    本报讯  第十二届圣犹大马拉松赛将于本周六（2013年12月7日）在孟菲斯地区拉开序幕，到目前为止，已有约2万人报名参加了这一活动。在往年的比赛中，都会有华人参加，并获得过不错的成绩。

    作为一家非营利机构，圣犹大儿童医院（St. Jude Children's Research Hospital）不向任何患病的儿童及其家庭收取任何与治疗及吃住行相关的费用，但其每天用于免费研究和治疗少儿癌症及其他危重疾病的费用则达到180万美元。圣犹大马拉松赛以圣犹大儿童医院冠名，其举办旨在为圣犹大儿童医院筹集资金，据统计，在去年举办的第十一届圣犹大马拉松赛上，仅St. Jude Heroes（通过参与马拉松赛向自己的亲友募集资金的人的统称）就筹集了约600万美元，用以支持圣强德儿童医院的研究和治疗。

    今年二月份，跑步者世界杂志（Runner’s World magazine）将圣犹大半程马拉松赛列为全美最好、途径线路最美的半程马拉松赛之一。本次马拉松赛线路也将涵盖包括Sun Studios，the National Civil Rights Museum，AutoZone Park，Beale Street，以及St. Jude园区等在内的多处孟菲斯地区的地标，比赛时间为早晨6点至下午2点半，孟菲斯警局（Memphis Police Department）及其他各执法机关将为参与比赛的运动员、观众、工作人员及志愿者保驾护航，确保比赛的安全顺利进行。在此，政府工作人员也提醒各位司机注意以下时间及路线安排，提早选择备用路线，以错开交通繁忙的区域。具体的时间及路线安排如下：
